Bryan El Castillo

I’ve spent my life as an artist.

Starting at a young age, I realized that this was my direction and have worked over the years to hone multiple techniques. I’ve always been drawn to the beauty of life and the depiction of it. I’ve played between different mediums, finding balance between what I wanted to express and the extent to which those mediums could allow. An avid traveler, I’ve searched the world looking for the inspirations that help bring these images to life.

Growing up in Colorado I had my first solo exhibition in Telluride at 22. Soon after, I moved to New York where I found success in the art world and spent the next ten years working on the concept of mixing layers of photography and oil. In my 30’s I relocated to San Francisco to experiment with three dimensional art, mixing oil painting and wood wall sculpture. I now live in Phoenix, Arizona where I have been focusing on the development of my new style of painting on canvas as well as cyanotype photography and rotoscope video art.

I will continue to explore, and I will never stop trying to show the world the way I see it.
